Dispatcher Monitoring
Zest Delivery provides real-time dispatcher visibility for each delivery bag from restaurant through delivery. Real-time alerts provide notifications of out-of-compliance handling or bag operations. Bags are monitored for power (plugged in to vehicle supply), temperature, humidity and bag open/close. It was noted through testing that roughly 10% of drivers would forget to plug-in their delivery bags when starting a delivery. That would immediately put the meal quality at risk, however Zest Delivery provides immediate feedback to both the driver and dispatcher. If the bag is not plugged in within minutes, the dispatcher can call the driver, or cancel the delivery.

Pre-staging Meals for On-demand Delivery
Consumers often order meal delivery on impulse, or in an effort to save time compared to dining out, so delivery time is a primary factor in the ordering process. Restaurants can cater to this bias by offering a fixed menu of popular meals that can be pre-staged with delivery vehicles. This can provide roughly a 30-minute advantage over customer ordering and delivery. Pre-staging meals has both the benefit of faster delivery, as well as meal prep can occur ahead of peak restaurant traffic times.

Customer Satisfaction
Actively managing meal temperatures when out-for-delivery means you can provide both dine-in quality, as well as extended pre-staging times for on-demand menu items. Zest Delivery provides custom meal heating / cooling profiles to maintain ideal meal temperature and humidity. Remote visibility of meal quality means dispatchers can validate delivered quality, and cancel meals that failed to maintain their quality – avoiding dissatisfied customers and potential food safety issues.

Delivery Food Safety
Actively managing meal temperature is the first requirement in maintaining food safety. Having the ability to directly disqualify food for delivery is required to prevent delivery of impacted meals. Capturing handling records for all deliveries enables process management and process improvement, as well as health code adherence.
