Randy S. May Chairman & CEO

As Chairman, Randy S. May leads a strong management team that is working to deliver Ecoark Holding, Inc.’s mission of sustainable solutions through its subsidiaries and strategic partners. Under his leadership, Ecoark has completed three strategic acquisitions since 2012. Mr. May is a 25-year retail and supply-chain veteran with extensive experience in marketing, operational, and executive roles. Prior to Ecoark, Mr. May held many roles with Walmart Stores, the world’s largest retailer, based in Bentonville, Arkansas. From 1998-2004, Mr. May served as Divisional Manager for half the United States for one of the company’s specialty divisions. There, he was responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, finance, and operations for more than 1,800 stores. He had complete P&L responsibility for more than $4.0 billion dollars of sales. Under Mr. May’s leadership, the business grew sales and market share in a highly competitive market.

John P. Cahill –  Independent Director

John P. Cahill is currently Senior Counsel at the law firm of Norton Rose Fulbright LLP (formerly Chadbourne & Parke LLP) and has served in that capacity from 2007. He is also a Principal at the Pataki-Cahill Group LLC, a strategic consulting firm focusing on the economic and policy implications of domestic energy needs, which he co-founded in March 2007. He served in various capacities in the administration of the Governor of New York, George E. Pataki (from 1997 to 2006), including Secretary and Chief of Staff to the Governor (2002 to 2006). He also serves on the board of directors of Sterling Bancorp, a company traded on the New York Stock Exchange.  Mr. Cahill holds a BA in Economics from Fordham University and a JD and LLM in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law.

Michael J. Green  –  Independent Director
Committees: Corporate Governance And Nominating, Audit and Compensation

Mr. Green retired June 2015 as Vice President for Strategic Services North America with responsibility across services and technology business lines to enable IBM to deliver high value integrated business value propositions to its strategic clients. Mr. Green remained under contract as consultant to IBM through April 2017 and, most recently, was involved with IBM’s blockchain initiative. Mr. Green has had extensive international and general management experience over his thirty-five-year career with IBM. In previous assignments, he has served as the General Manager of IBM North America Strategic Outsourcing Services, the Vice President of Healthcare & Insurance IBM Global Services, the General Manager of Global Services Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East, Austria and Switzerland, and the Vice President of Strategic Service Latin America. During his career at IBM, Mr. Green has worked with clients spanning a range of industries, including: Financial Services & Insurance, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare, Government, Manufacturing & Distribution.  He has extensive experience in leading areas of IBM transformation identifying new and emerging technologies and leveraging IBM consulting, systems integration, infrastructure technology, software and cloud services & outsourcing. Mr. Green holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Finance from Mount Saint Mary’s, Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Peter Mehring – CEO Zest Labs, Inc. President Ecoark Holding, Inc.

Peter Mehring is the CEO and a co-founder of Zest Labs, and is also the President of  Ecoark Holdings and serves on its Board of Directors. He brings extensive experience in engineering, operations and general management at emerging companies and large enterprises. Peter has led the Zest Labs’ efforts in pioneering freshness management solutions for the cold supply chain. The company’s Zest Fresh solution improves food quality, reducing waste, and benefiting the environment by modernizing the food distribution and delivery system. He was formerly Vice President of the Mac hardware group at Apple Computer, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Echelon, and founder, General Manager and Vice President of R&D at UMAX. Peter has a BSEE from Tufts University and holds 17 US patents.

Gary Metzger – Independent Director

Gary Metzger is has served as an executive at Amco International, Inc. and Amco Plastics Materials, Inc., where in 1986 he earned the role of President. He held the position for the next 24 years. Amco was sold to Ravago Americas in December of 2011.Mr. Metzger joined the board of Ecoark, Inc. in 2013. He has contributed 40 years of product development, strategic planning, management, business development, and operational expertise. In addition to his leadership functions, Mr. Metzger spearheaded research and development for recycled polymers, new alloy and bio-based polymer development, and introduced fragrance into polymer applications. He also developed encrypted item level bar code identification technology, anti-counterfeiting technologies, and antimicrobial technologies.

Steven K. Nelson – Independent Director

Steven K. Nelson has been a lecturer for the Department of Accounting at the University of Central Arkansas since 2015 after retiring as Vice President, Controller of Dillards, Inc. (NYSE: DDS). His career at Dillards began in 1988, where he was responsible for administering all aspects of financial accounting and reporting. Mr. Nelson began his career in 1980 as a staff accountant for Ernst & Young and attained the title of audit manager by the time he left the firm in 1984.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas.  Mr. Nelson maintains an active license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Arkansas.
